From the beginning, life with Nick has been an adventure. The first night we met we spent the evening kayaking through the bioluminescent waters of Tomales Bay. Every time our paddles skimmed the water’s surface they left behind a vibrant blue trail of provoked dinoflagellates. It was there along the Marin County coastline that we discovered our common love for all things nature and started to explore the idea of a future together.

We both find happiness in dusty hiking boots, unexplored trails, and adventure. It is in these moments of exploration that we feel fully alive and the strongest sense of collection and fulfillment. Our love for the outdoors has provided a unshakable common ground and place where we can escape when life starts to feel a bit too heavy.

It is our goal to pursue a life of discovery and to embrace the simple joys along the way. One can never underestimate the simple pleasure that comes from a warm cup of tea or the smell of rain after a long dry spell. It is our dream to be able to spend several years traveling abroad tackling our ever growing bucket list while giving ourselves the time needed to unwind and fall in love with the places we visit. This blog is a way for us to document our travels and to share our experiences with friends and family. If fellow travelers and adventurers happen upon our site we hope our stories can provide some helpful tips and inspiration as well.

Within our stories you will find a devilishly handsome flurry pawed retriever who goes by the name of Sir Winston.  From the moment we brought him home he stole our hearts and became an integral part of our family. He is extremely fond of all things water, never turns down treats, and adores post hike snuggles. His love of the great outdoors and winning personality make him the perfect trail companion and addition to our little family. It is our fierce hope to find a way to give back and aid this amazing breed of dog during our future travels. Winston has had such a positive impact on our lives and we are definitely the richer for it.
